SUPPORT FOR THE COMMUNITY OF COMMUNES OF MARIE-GALANTE IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THE PORT SITES OF GRAND-BOURG, SAINT-LOUIS AND CAPESTERRE

MISSION DESCRIPTION

The overall aim of the Technical Assistance to the CCMG was to support the dynamic development of port services required to launch the first investments in the project’s target ports. To achieve this, major reorganizations and changes both inside and outside the CCMG were necessary.

The local authorities involved (CCMG, CD971, Communes) were accompanied  in the process of reorganizing port activity in Marie-Galante. They took part in meetings, and supported the restructuring of the sector recommended by the CCMG. Based on an exhaustive, validated institutional and technico-economic diagnosis of the sector, a strategy has been broken down into a prioritized work plan.

With the support of Odyssée Développement, the first priority activities (launch of the first tenders, recruitment, training, procedures, etc.) have been implemented to give an operational start to the sector’s development.
